HATCH EXHIBITS UNVEILS ENHANCED CAPABILITIES, INCLUDING FAST PRODUCTION OF MASSIVE OBJECTS USING 3D PRINTING

Elkridge-based firm among select few using Massivit 5000 Additive Manufacturing System

Elkridge, MD (February 7, 2024)Hatch, a full-service experiential design-build firm, proudly announces it is among the select few U.S. companies harnessing the power of Massivit 3D Printing Technologies. Emerging as a game-changer in experiential design, Hatch now boasts the revolutionary Massivit 5000 additive manufacturing system, pushing the boundaries of creativity and efficiency in producing large-scale custom parts and designs and massive, functional prototyping.

“We are thrilled to announce our ability to now produce complex, massive, custom molds in a matter of days thanks to Massivit's Gel Dispensing Printing technology,” said Chris McCormick, Co-Founder of Hatch Exhibits. “Our Massivit 5000 system combines ultra-fast custom manufacturing technology with high-performance, thermoset materials to enable us to rapidly produce full-scale end-use parts, tooling applications, and functional prototypes. This gives us an unparalleled advantage when developing materials for our clients ranging from large statues, props, and characters to displays, signs, art installations, concrete letters, life-size animals, architectural elements, and more.”

Massivit’s patented Gel Dispensing Printing (GDP) technology enables Hatch to automate the production of large-scale custom parts and designs, along with monumental, functional prototyping – all achieved in 80% less time. Additionally, the machine enables Hatch to create complex models that cannot be produced using traditional techniques while saving on materials and creating lighter end pieces by controlling the model's thickness.

For example, the Massivit is used by Stratiforme Industries, a servicer of leading European railway manufacturers, to produce large composite parts on-demand for light rail vehicles in half the time it would take using traditional manufacturing methods. Hatch is taking a page out of this book, developing a lifesize replica of a high-speed train to show Americans what the trains will look like as major cities prepare to install them.

Hatch’s expertise extends beyond 3D printing, with a dedicated team headquartered in a 90,000-square-foot space in Elkridge, Maryland. The collaborative efforts of designers, fabricators, producers, engineers, and technologists converge to transform their clients’ visions into reality. From crafting captivating trade show booths to curating immersive branded environments and engineering massive custom exhibits, Hatch brings every detail to life – all within their state-of-the-art facility.

“What sets Hatch apart is our ability to design, build, and manage every aspect of a project in-house flawlessly,” added McCormick. “That’s why industry leaders such as Google, Facebook, Under Armour, and major marketing and event agencies trust Hatch. We thrive on challenges and consistently deliver excellence, even when others fall short.”
